Understanding Server Credentials

Every hosting service provisioned at OrynCloud comes with specific connection endpoints and cryptographic access tokens. Learn how to locate, interpret, and protect them.

1. Server IP & Port Allocation

When managing a Minecraft or Discord bot server, your connection string consists of two parts separated by a colon: an IPv4 Address and an Assigned Port.

Always Include Your Custom Port

Standard Minecraft Java Edition defaults to port 25565. If your server is assigned an alternative port (e.g., 25675), you and your players must include the colon and port number when connecting, unless you configure an SRV record.

2. SFTP File Access Credentials

To transfer mods, world folders, and large plugin jars directly from your desktop, use SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol).

In your game panel, navigate to Settings to find your SFTP details:

Server Address (Host): e.g., sftp.node1.oryncloud.com or node IP.
Port: Usually 2022 (standard Pterodactyl Wings SFTP port).
Username: Formatted as account_email.server_uuid_short (e.g., alex.8f3a9d1c).
Password: Your active Game Panel login password.

3. Cloud MariaDB Database Details

If your plan includes cloud databases (e.g. for LuckPerms, CoreProtect, or LiteBans), navigate to the Databases tab in your panel and click New Database.

The panel generates:

Host: 103.xxx.xxx.xxx or db.oryncloud.com
Database Name: e.g., s42_luckperms
Username: e.g., u42_a9d3k2
Password: Click the eye icon to reveal the secure randomized password.

4. Linux KVM VPS SSH Credentials

Intel Xeon Gold KVM VPS instances come with full root privileges. Your initial credentials are delivered by email upon automated setup:

SSH Port: 22
Username: root
Initial Password: [Dispatched in Welcome Email]

Change Root Password Immediately

Upon initial SSH login, change your root password immediately using the passwd command, or deploy an SSH public key for key-based authentication.

5. Credential Security Standards

Never share your master panel password: Instead of sharing account credentials, invite co-owners via the Sub-Users tab.
Mask bot tokens: Never paste Discord bot tokens in public channels or commit them to GitHub. Use our visual Environment Manager.
OrynCloud staff will never ask for your password: Our technicians have root administrative panel tools and will never solicit your secret keys.
